Defence & National Security

Connect what exists. Introduce what is needed. Preserve control.

Defence environments depend on mission, operational, enterprise, partner, supplier and legacy systems that evolve at different rates and often remain under different authorities.

Avato applies configuration-driven orchestration, interoperability and trusted information exchange to help those environments work together without assuming wholesale replacement, a single technology stack or unnecessary centralization.

The problem

Defence interoperability is not simply a connectivity problem.

Operational information may need to move between heterogeneous systems, organizations and technology generations while identity, policy, representation, validation, traceability and local authority still matter. Requiring every participant to converge on the same implementation can increase cost, coupling and transition risk.

Three scenarios

Start with a concrete defence outcome.

Federation

Federated Operational Information Exchange

Allow independently controlled systems and organizations to exchange selected operational information through governed, observable interfaces.

Modernization

Progressive Mission-System Modernization

Introduce new digital, operational or analytical capabilities around existing mission and support systems while reducing direct dependencies over time.

Emerging application

Trusted Defence Supply Chain

Let recognized authorities make verifiable supplier assertions while procurement and participating systems evaluate those assertions against policy.

A federated architecture

Put orchestration at the boundaries between independently controlled environments.

Avato can be deployed within customer-controlled environments and used to adapt interfaces and representations, apply configured controls, coordinate exchanges and retain operational traceability. In federated scenarios, each organization can retain local authority while exchanging only the information and decisions required by the shared process.

Environment A

  • Existing mission and enterprise systems
  • Local identity and governance
  • Customer-controlled Avato deployment
↔

Environment B

  • Different systems and representations
  • Independent operational responsibility
  • Shared contracts and governed exchange

ATLAS

A defence-oriented application of the Avato platform.

ATLAS is the working name for Avato's emerging defence-oriented architecture. It applies the same platform capabilities used for interoperability, federation, policy-driven exchange, operational assurance and customer-controlled deployment to defence scenarios. Defence-specific implementations remain distinct from Avato's production evidence in banking and healthcare.

Evidence boundary

Production-proven foundation. Defence applications under development.

Avato's underlying platform capabilities and architectural patterns have been proven in regulated production environments. The defence scenarios presented here describe how those established capabilities can be composed and extended for defence and national-security problems; they are not presented as completed military deployments.

What defence capability needs to work across today's systems?

Bring us the operational outcome, the systems involved and the boundaries that must be preserved. We can determine together whether Avato is a useful fit.
